People who own a Nintendo Wii are fully aware of how much is costs to buy new games. However, some of the classic games can be inexpensively and easily downloaded via the Internet by taking advantage of the "Virtual Console," an intregal part of the online Wii's system.

Here's how to download Wii games from the comfort of your own home, using your home computer!

1) Use the Wii LAN adapter or the wireless router to connect to the Internet.

2) Turn on your Wii game console.

3) You will see the Wii menu come up. Once it does, loated the icon which reads "Wii Shop Channel." Click on this icon.

4) Scroll through the available games shown on the Virtual Console. Choose one that you wish to download. This may prove difficult, however, since there are thousands of titles to choose from!

5) Once you choose a game, you will notice that the price of the title is a designated number of "Wii points." In order to get these "points" you must use a debit or credit card to purchase the points. Newer games are about $10, a small fraction of the new off-the-shelf price, whereas older or classic games can be as low as one dollar! The price is well worth the value, considering that three or four new games can be purchased using the Virtual Console for the same price as one game at the store!

6) Once you have completed your purchase via the Virtual Console, you can return to the main menu on your Wii. On this menu, you will see a new icon for your purchased game. By clicking on this icon, you will start the game.

7) Remember, if you want to download Nintendo Wii games, you must use the Wii LAN Adapter or a wireless connection in order to connect to the Internet and for the download to be successful.

8) You can also choose to download wii games directly from a website which will allow you unlimited access to thier entire database. If you plan to download a large quantity of games, a flat fee option may be to your advantage. On the other hand, if you have one or two games in mind, then paying a small fee per download would be the best choice.
